The Arab Countries Water Utilities Association (ACWUA) organizes the 6th Best Practices Conferences. The meeting will be held in Algiers (Algeria) from next 2 December until 4 December.
The 6th Best Practices Conference aims to standardize the management of water and wastewater utilities in the Arab countries. The meeting focuses on promoting and disseminating standards of performance for governance, management, operation with regard to this industry sector.
The Conference will highlight four core topics: Challenges, success factors and opportunities, Approach towards sustainability management for water utilities, Institutionalization and reform of water utilities to enhance performance and comply with international management standards and Capacity building for standards compliance and certification of water utilities.
The topics on discussion during the Best Practices Conference’s sessions will deal with issues such as transparency, accountability and stakeholder participation in standards development, quality criteria for better service delivery, energy efficiency standards for water and wastewater utilities, certification of water utilities to maintain public health and safety, standards for effluent wastewater quality for safe discharge and for safe water reuse, among many others.
